In the USC Division of Biokinesiology and Physical Therapy, we prioritize interdisciplinary collaboration to enhance our translational research efforts. Together, we study recovery and rehabilitation from injuries and diseases that affect human movement — in five research areas, 15 laboratories and three research centers.
Exercise Science and Muscle Physiology

Neuromotor Control and Neurorehabilitation

Infant Learning and Motor Control

The USC Division of Biokinesiology and Physical Therapy maintains three research centers:
- Phillips-Fisher Center for Brain Repair and Rehabilitation, an interdisciplinary program focusing on research and novel treatments for neurological motor system disorders
- Bice Clinical Research Center, which supports the division’s extensive clinical research trials program
- Rehabilitation Engineering Research Center, which aims to enhance the lives of people with disabilities through cutting-edge technologies that optimize motor processes, employment opportunities and community participation
