Dr. Romina Shafikhani is a board certified neurological clinical specialist and certified Parkinson Wellness Recovery therapist whose professional passion lies in the science of motor learning and the remarkable capacity of the nervous system to reorganize and recover after injury to the brain and spinal cord. She is committed to understanding and advancing rehabilitation strategies to restore movement in individuals with spinal cord injury and movement disorders such as Parkinson’s Disease and Functional Neurologic Disorder.

Shafikhani works in the acute rehabilitation setting at Rancho Los Amigos National Rehabilitation Center, where she specializes in spinal cord injury treatment as well as seating and positioning. At USC, she teaches physical therapy management of individuals with neurologic disorders and assists in the neuroanatomy lab. She is an active member of both the American Physical Therapy Association and its Academy of Neurologic Physical Therapy.
