PROFESSIONAL INTERESTS

Dr. Marland Browning is an assistant professor of clinical physical therapy and practices at USC Physical Therapy on the Health Science Campus. He specializes in post-operative rehabilitation with an emphasis on knee-related surgical interventions, including ACL reconstruction (ACLr), meniscus repairs, meniscectomies, tibial osteotomies, femoral osteotomies, medial patella-femoral ligament repairs, total knee arthroplasties and cartilage repair.

Marland is a board certified orthopedic clinical specialist through the American Board of Physical Therapy Specialties.  He is a member of the Academy of Orthopedics Physical Therapy through the American Physical Therapy Association.  He is also a member of the USC Biokinesiology and Physical Therapy Black Alumni Association.

Marland is an assistant professor in the doctor of physical therapy program at USC, teaching in the therapeutic exercise course.  Additionally, he is a primary mentor in the orthopedic physical therapy residency at USC where he acts as a content expert for literature reviews for topics such as ACL rehabilitation and patellofemoral pain syndrome.

Marland has an interest in research pertaining to hip-spine syndrome, which he has published literature regarding this topic. He also has an interest in research pertaining to ACLr and has assisted with research within the Human Performance Lab.
