PELVIC HEALTH

OVERVIEW

Physical therapy for pelvic health focuses on physical therapy management of musculoskeletal dysfunctions pertaining to conditions affecting the reproductive, urogenital, colorectal and neuro-musculoskeletal systems.

In partnership with the USC Center for Pelvic Health, we use state-of-the-art, patient-centered care for women and men with pelvic-region dysfunction and advance the field through novel research studies.

CONDITIONS TREATED

The pelvic health program encompasses four areas of care, including continence rehabilitation, pelvic pain management, voiding dysfunction management and pre-post natal care. USC offers physical therapy services to treat a number of conditions including:

Continence Rehabilitation

  • Fecal incontinence
  • Post-bladder reconstruction
  • Post-bladder suspension
  • Post-prostatectomy incontinence
  • Post-TURP incontinence
  • Urinary stress/urge incontinence

Pelvic-Pain Management

  • Anal/rectal pain
  • Coccygodynia (tailbone pain)
  • Dyspareunia
  • Ejaculatory pain
  • Genital pain
  • Irritable bowel syndrome
  • Nonbacterial chronic prostatitis
  • Perineal pain
  • Postoperative pudendal nerve decompression

Voiding Dysfunction Management
