Professional Interests
Russell Romano is an Assistant Athletic Director and the Head Athletic Trainer at the University of Southern California (USC). Employed by USC since 1993 and promoted to Head Athletic Trainer in 1998, he oversees that athletic medicine program that provides medically-related services to 650 student-athletes, while supervising 14 staff members, and 40-50 student training assistants.
Mr. Romano has a special interest in concussion prevention and management, both at USC and within the NCAA. He works closely with the neurosurgery department at USC in the development and implementation of concussion protocols in athletics.
