Dr. Aimee Diaz is the Director of the Sports Physical Therapy Residency at the USC Division of Biokinesiology and Physical Therapy. She oversees the year-long residency, teaching in the didactic modules and mentoring the residents with their patients.
She sees patients clinically at the USC Physical Therapy Associates, the faculty practice for the USC Division of Biokinesiology and Physical Therapy, and at the Keck Hospital’s Outpatient Rehabilitation Center. She specializes in treating patients with sports-related injuries, orthopedic disorders, post-surgical rehabilitation, and functional return-to-sport.
Dr. Diaz also treats women’s health related disorders. She is board certified by the American Board of Physical Therapy Specialties as a Sports Certified Clinical Specialist. She is a member of the Sports, the Orthopedic, and the Women’s Health Sections of the American Physical Therapy Association. She is also a Certified Athletic Trainer through the Board of Certification.
Dr. Diaz teaches in the Doctor of Physical Therapy program in the 3rd year curriculum for the Integrated Management of the Extremities course. She also assists with teaching the pelvic health content in the 2nd year curriculum.
In addition, she provides physical therapy services to East LA College, assisting with pre-season physicals and weekly injury clinics during football season. She also participates in weekly injury clinic with USC’s Club Sports through USC Recreational Sports.
Along with clinical and academic pursuits, Dr. Diaz has also been an invited speaker and panelist at local and state conferences.
