In Memory of Matthew Goumas

Matthew Robert Goumas (DPT 2011) passed away on Sunday, January 17, 2016 from unexplained cardiac arrest while snowboarding in our local mountains.

Matt was born and raised in Piscataway, NJ by his father Wayne Goumas and his mother Hetty Goumas. He moved to California in 2008 to attend graduate school at USC where he earned his Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) degree. Matt was employed by California Rehab and Physical Therapy in Huntington Beach.

Fellow Trojan classmate Aaron McGuinness wrote “Matt was an incredible man who is being mourned all over the world. He taught, healed, coached, traveled and inspired. He truly was an extraordinary person. He lived an amazing life that should be applauded. His life will continue to inspire all who knew him and people who didn't will be inspired by the memories he made.”

A visitation will take place on Wednesday, January 27, 2016 from 5:00 to 8:00 pm in the Westminster Memorial Park Main Chapel.

Funeral services will be Saturday January 30th at the Piscataway Funeral Home. See obituary and funeral information here.
