  • The University of Southern California (USC) Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) program participates in the Physical Therapist Centralized Application Service, known as PTCAS. All individuals wishing to apply to the USC DPT program for admission into the Fall 2016 entering class will apply using the PTCAS online application form. The PTCAS application will be available beginning on July 1, 2015 and can be found on the PTCAS Website.

    USC participates in the PTCAS Early Decision option. Applicants wishing to apply only to USC through the Early Decision option must have their completed application and all required materials submitted to PTCAS no later than August 15, 2015 in order to be eligible for consideration.

    The application process for the Doctor of Physical Therapy program is comprised of the following steps: 

    Step 1

    • Complete the PTCAS Application (for specific questions regarding the PTCAS application, please contact PTCAS directly by email: ptcasinfo@ptcas.org or by phone: 617-612-2040).  PLEASE NOTE:  It is important that GRE scores are included on the application form (or the anticipated test date). 

    Step 2

    • Once the PTCAS Application is completed, fill out a USC Graduate School Supplemental Application.  PLEASE NOTE:  USC Graduate Admissions requires official transcripts from all colleges and universities attended AND official GRE scores from ETS.  The official transcript materials should be sent directly to USC Graduate Admissions (in addition to transcripts submitted via PTCAS).  Official GRE scores will be delivered to the Graduate School via the PTCAS application.  No statement of purpose or letters of recommendation are required for the supplemental application.  IMPORTANT:  Please fill out the general "Application for Admission."  There is NO separate "Physical Therapy" Supplemental Form.  Remember to choose "Independent Health Professions" as the school or college to which you are applying and select "Physical Therapy (DPT)" as your intended program of study.

    Step 3

    • Applicants are welcome to make an appointment to visit the campus, tour the facilities, and speak with a faculty member (this can be arranged by contacting Virginia Orcasitas, Admissions Coordinator, at vorcas@usc.edu or 323-442-2890. 

    Decision Notification
    A decision on your application is dependent upon the completeness of both the PTCAS Application and USC Graduate Application.  This includes receipt of all GRE scores, official transcripts from all colleges and universities attended, and letters of recommendation. 

    Application Deadline
    The PTCAS application for the DPT program will be available on July 1, 2015 and is DUE BY DECEMBER 1, 2015
