Apply

  • The University of Southern California (USC) Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) program participates in the Physical Therapist Centralized Application Service, known as PTCAS. All individuals wishing to apply to the USC DPT program for admission into the Fall 2018 entering class will apply using the PTCAS online application form. The PTCAS application will be available beginning June 29, 2017 and can be found on the PTCAS Website.

USC also participates in the PTCAS Early Decision option. Applicants wishing to apply only to USC through the Early Decision option must have their completed application and all required materials submitted to PTCAS no later than August 15, 2017 in order to be eligible for consideration.

The application process for the Doctor of Physical Therapy program is comprised of the following steps:

    Step 1

    • Complete the PTCAS Application (for specific questions regarding the PTCAS application, please contact PTCAS directly by email: ptcasinfo@ptcas.org or by phone: 617-612-2040).  PLEASE NOTE:  It is important that GRE scores are included on the application form (or the anticipated test date).

    Step 2

    • Applicants are welcome to make an appointment to attend an information session to tour the facilities, and speak with a faculty member (this can be arranged by contacting Virginia Orcasitas, Admissions Coordinator, at vorcas@usc.edu or 323-442-2890.
    • Please Note: The Admissions Committee does not conduct personal interviews as part of the admissions decision process. These group information sessions are intended to allow the applicant to learn about the program and to have their questions answered by faculty and current students.
    Application Evaluation Process

The Admissions Committee considers complete applications on a semi-rolling basis as they are submitted and verified by PTCAS. This means that complete applications are generally reviewed by the committee once they are verified by the PTCAS system and all decision notifications are sent out in a timely fashion. Once seats are filled, competitive applications that continue to be submitted prior to the cycle deadline may be placed on the wait list. The committee strongly suggests that the application be submitted as soon as the applicant feels it is complete and representative of their academic and extracurricular accomplishments.

    Decision Notification

A decision on your application is dependent upon the completeness of the PTCAS Application.  This includes receipt of all GRE scores, official transcripts from all colleges and universities attended, and letters of recommendation. Typically, all applicants receive a final decision by March or April prior to the anticipated fall program start date.

    Application Deadline

The PTCAS application for the DPT program will be available on June 29, 2017 and is DUE BY DECEMBER 1, 2017

*** NOTE: NO APPLICATION SUBMITTED AFTER DECEMBER 1, 2017 WILL BE ACCEPTED ***
