Service to the community is a core value for the Division of Biokinesiology and Physical Therapy. Students are provided with multiple opportunities and venues within which to develop professionalism.

The service-learning experience (SLE) is an educational opportunity in which students learn about social responsibility, advocacy, and the importance of life-long civic engagement, through active participation in purposeful volunteer community service.

Established as a pro-bono community clinic, Fit Families is a joint effort and commitment of the Division's faculty, staff, students, alumni, Board of Councilors, and professionals and leaders of the local communities to provide services and contribute to the health of the residents of the communities surrounding the USC Health Sciences Campus.
PTMLA is a student organization that aims to promote the profession of physical therapy in the local community through high school outreach and presentations.
The Adelante Community Exercise Program is a free health and fitness program for cancer survivors and supportive friends and family. Our mission is to help cancer survivors of all types and of different mobility levels Move Forward (“Adelante”) from treatment into wellness and survivorship through exercise. It is held every Friday 1-2pm at the Wellness Center at the Historic General Hospital, 1200 N State Street, Los Angeles.
The Community Exercise Class at USC PT Associates is an 8-week program in which participants work with 1-2 physical therapy students in the second year of the Doctor of Physical Therapy program on an individualized exercise program designed to match each participant’s physical abilities and fitness goals.
